Title:Amankay
Description:In the '70s Amankay was at the center of the (musical) opposition of Pinochet. The band was established in the Netherlands around Chilean music students studying in this country. They decided that their music should not only be used as a protest but that it should be interesting as compositions as well. By doing this they gave a brand new interpretation of nuevo cancion. A composition like 'Documentos' is a good example of this. The band made one album, which is now rereleased on cd with sleeve notes by Jan Fairley and Antonio Padilla. The band members later popped up in groups like Quilapayun and Inti-Illimani. An essential re-release!!
