| Die Beschriftung der Walzen lautet: Deutsche Neuguinea-Expedition (D. N. G.). Zahlreiche Originalwalzen befanden sich in verschimmelten Kartons, einige konnten nicht mehr gerettet werden. Die vollständigen Unterlagen der Expedition befinden sich im EM: "Acta betreffend die Erforschung des Kaiserin-Augusta-Flusses in Deutsch-Neu-Guinea, Band 1 - 4, Pars I B. 79a". Lt. Notiz Nevermann an Schneider v. 21.1.35 wurden die Walzen erst damals dem PHA übergeben. Aus den Unterlagen geht hervor, daß R. Thurnwald nicht - wie ursprünglich geplant - an diesen Tonaufnahmen beteiligt war (Mündliche Mitteilung Don Niles vom 4.10.00), vgl. auch Schindlbeck 2001:xx. Die Grundlage von Christensen (1963) sind 28 Walzen, die sich nach dem 2.Weltkrieg im Westen befanden (sog. Altbestand). Einige Transkriptionen auch in Christensen 1960. W. 69 und 76 sind veröffentlicht auf der CD 100 Jahre (1/13-14), Kommentar D. Christensen. |
