| Die Sammlung setzt sich aus zwei Teilen zusammen: 1. W. 1 - 54, die Esser selbst 1935 in Zentral-Celebes aufgenommen hat, und 2. 72 Walzen, die Essers damaliger Assistent Toemakaka 1938 aufgenommen hat und die als Esser 55 - 126 beschriftet sind. Diese Walzen (55 - 126) sind nicht im Eingangsbuch eingetragen, und es existiert keinerlei Dokumentation dazu. Es ist zu vermuten, daß alle Walzen der 2. Sammlung galvanisiert wurden, während des Krieges aber verloren gingen. Die drei vorhandenen Galvanos 98, 106, 112 wurden in den russischen korobki gefunden, in denen die Restbestände aus verlorenen Kisten gesammelt wurden. Ein umfangreicher Briefwechsel liegt vor. |
