| Die umfangreiche Sammlung gliedert sich in vier Gruppen, die unterschiedlich beschriftet sind: L = Love songs, DR = Doctor Songs, B = Bear Songs and Bear dance, T = Tale songs. Für Dorsey steht auch: DRSY. Die Originaldokumentation der Sammlung "Tale Songs" enthält für jede Walze jeweils zwei Nummern, eine fortlaufende von 1 - 41, in Klammern dazu die ursprüngliche Originalnummer (nicht fortlaufend, zwischen 30 und 148). Es handelt sich bei diesen Walzen um Teile einer umfangreicheren Sammlung, die G. A. Dorsey gemeinsam mit James Murie aufgenommen hat (vgl. EFR 54-044-F mit 443 cyl.). Die Sammlung wurde von Hornbostel archiviert (Inv.Nr. 1407-1426, 1692-1706, 2063-3055, keine fortlaufenden Nummern, sondern Trennung nach Originalen und Galvanos). Als Eingangsdatum ist ein Zeitpunkt nach Hornbostels USA-Reise (1906) anzunehmen, aufgrund der ursprünglichen Inventarnummern etwa das Jahr 1908. Im EB Schneider sind nur die 34 Galvanos inventarisiert (EB S. 460-461) und (offensichtlich fälschlicherweise) als FE 29 gekennzeichnet. Briefwechsel wurde bisher nicht entdeckt. In der Orig.dok finden sich Hinweise auf publizierte Texte (Dorsey Mythology). Es besteht eine Verbindung zu der Sammlung "Hornbostel Pawnee 1906", teilweise wurden die gleichen Informanten aufgenommen. Weitere Unterlagen finden sich in den ATM Bloomington, Indiana (USA). |
